Here's the view looking towards the front door
We took down the blinds, painted the windows, trim and ceiling Behr 'Decorator white', the walls Ralph Lauren 'Canvas Natural' to match the living room and Behr 'Rich Brown' on the floor.
This is what the front door looked like for another year until (spoiler alert!) we painted it along with the outside of the house a year later. It's on my wish list to replace this door with something a little more 1908 and a little less 1980.
Here's the new light fixture we installed and a sneak peak of the room as it looks today. I love the original wood ceiling in this room. We have a stack of panels of it in the garage; I don't know where they came from but I'm hoping to find a use for them eventually.
This door leads into the house from the sunroom; through it is the stairwell and foyer.
Same door with a fresh coat of paint
Speaking of fresh coat of paint, I'd like to share this little jem with you. Please take a minute to soak in the purple that was the floor. Yes you're seeing that right, not only did someone at some point paint the wood floor, they painted it purple.
Thru the door into the house
And again at a much later date. As a side note, sometimes weather stripping is paint stripping.
One last picture, this one from outside taken later while the house was being painted (note the windows were just painted white, they were the same purple on the outside as the floor was inside).
